People ask me all the time, “how do you feel?” What I really want to say is, “I’m fat…how do you feel today?” I don’t. I just smile and say pleasant things that everyone wants to hear. Motivation during pregnancy is no easy task, but I found a few daily things I could actively be doing to boost motivation and mood during pregnancy.
It’s frustrating, you know? For 25 years, I have looked at myself in the mirror, and judged my body from one day to the next. It’s how I found out that pasta makes my thighs grow! Some women don’t gain weight right off, but I did. As soon as I got pregnant, my body started storing fat! So now, all of the sudden, I’m looking at my body from one day to the next and I just keep getting fatter and fatter. For 20 weeks! The only sign that I’m pregnant is gaining weight.
To add to that bodily frustration, I had to change what I ate, what I drank, and how I exercised. Not to mention, I was receiving the most “advice” I had ever received in my life. All of this change was happening, and nothing to show for it.
Then….finally….. in week 20….I felt the most glorious thing I have ever felt in my life! A kick! It was like all of the sudden, all of this change meant something! There really was a tiny human where a flat stomach used to be!
